Kentucky: Listing of Free Government Phone Providers
If you live in the state of Kentucky and participate in the Federal Lifeline program, you have the opportunity to receive a free government cell phone along with free service (talk/text and data). Or, if you prefer, through the Lifeline program you could opt for discounts on your home landline service (choose one only).
Now, with the creation of the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which replaced the EBB program, eligible residents have the option of receiving a free or discounted device such as a tablet, computer, or laptop. With the device comes unlimited internet service.
Because the plans vary from company to company, it is recommended that you review and compare several companies and plans before signing up for one. Below is a listing of phone service providers that participate in the Lifeline and/or ACP programs and services in the state of Kentucky:
The above list may not be a listing of all free and discounted Lifeline phone providers in Kentucky, but it's a good start. As we come across more providers, we'll add them to the list. We'll also periodically review the list to remove those providers no longer servicing the Kentucky area
Kentucky Lifeline Fact: As of October 2022, only 22% of eligible Kentucky households have enrolled in the Lifeline program. There are over 630,000 eligible households and only a little over 141,000 have enrolled. You can find this information on the Universal Service Administrative Company website.
If you know of anyone in Kentucky that can benefit from the Lifeline program, please share this with them<.
