Connecticut: Listing of Free Government Phone Providers

Thanks to the Federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and Lifeline programs, qualified low-income Connecticut residents can get help with their phone bills. ConnecticutThere are a few options:

  • Receive a monthly discount on a landline phone
  • Receive a free government phone with free talk/text and data
  • Receive a mobile device at a deep discount with free or discounted service

While most phone service providers can offer the discounted landline option (call your current landline company and ask), only a few companies offer free phones. Below is a listing of the phone companies servicing Connecticut that offer free phones:

Keep in mind that this list is by no means an exhaustive list of all the free phone providers in the state of Connecticut, but it is a start. As more providers become available, this list will be updated.

According to the Universal Service Administrative Company, as of April 2023, only 65,748 of the 410,540 individuals/households that meet the qualification criteria for the programs have actually enrolled.
